Case presentation | ||||
A 68-year female patient was admitted for exertional chest pain (CCS class 3). Her coronary risk factors were hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes mellitus.
Baseline coronary angiography
|
||||
Procedure | ||||
After wiring the lesion with a 0.014 inch BMW guidewire,
predilatation was performed with a 2.5mmX30mm Maverick (Boston scientific)
balloon. Then, two 2.75mmX33 mm Cypher stents were implanted for the long
LAD lesion. Post-stent adjunctive ballooning at the proximal part of the
stents was performed to 3.4mm with a 3.0mmX20mm Stormer (Medtronic) balloon.
Final angiogram (Figure
3, Figure
4) and IVUS showed a successful result. Six-month follow-up angiogram showed a very excellent result without any late loss in the stented segment (Figure 5, Figure 6). Furthermore, side-by-side comparison of post-intervention and follow-up IVUS images revealed nearly no neointimal hyperplasia within the whole segments of implanted stents (Figure 7, Figure 8) |
